Naming Ceremonies

A Naming Ceremony is a special occasion when parents announce and acknowledge their child’s name.  It is a non-religious ceremony which is an alternative to a baptism or a christening.

It is a celebration where family and friends welcome the child into their community.

The Naming Ceremony is a celebration with all the people involved in your child’s life.  It is an opportunity for you to proclaim your unconditional love, support, and encouragement that you will provide to your child.

The Naming Ceremony often takes place within the first 12 months of the child’s life but can be done if the child is older.  Family members can be actively encouraged to perform readings as part of the ceremony.  I can individually design a Naming Ceremony for you that bring special meaning to the roles of all involved, particularly the parents, grandparents, and godparents/guardians.

Each Naming Ceremony can be unique, as I try and fit in with the individual needs of your wishes.

Due to the Naming Ceremony being non-religious, it enables your child to make their own decision with regards to their beliefs in regards to religion later in life.

The Ceremony can be performed in a Park, or at your home, and you are also free to choose a special family member or friend, as godparents/guardians.

At the conclusion of the Ceremony, I will provide you with a Naming Certificate.
